Terms of Service

Welcome to Moon Phase Garden. These terms apply to your use of the Moon Phase Garden mobile app and the moonphasegarden.com website (together, "the Service"). By creating a community account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these terms.

1. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 13 years old to create a community account. If you live somewhere with a higher minimum digital-consent age, that age applies to you. The plant-information features of the app are available without an account and have no age restriction.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password and 12-word recovery phrase secure. We cannot recover them for you.
You are responsible for everything posted from your account.
One human, one account. Don't create extras to evade bans.
You can delete your account at any time by emailing brian@iamgeek.com.

3. Community rules

You agree not to use the Service to:

Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
Post commercial spam, scams, or affiliate-link bait.
Share personal information about yourself or others (real names, addresses, phone numbers).
Post content that infringes copyright or trademark you don't hold.
Post sexually explicit, violent, or illegal content.
Impersonate other users or public figures.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the system, scrape data, or interfere with other users.
Post content involving minors except in clearly safe contexts (a photo of your child holding a tomato is fine; identifying details are not).

4. Content ownership and license

You retain ownership of every word and photo you post. By posting public content to the community feed, you grant Moon Phase Garden a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute it within the Service — and only within the Service. You can revoke this license at any time by deleting the content.

We do not claim ownership of your content, do not sell it to third parties, and do not use it to train AI models.

5. Disclaimers — read this

Moon Phase Garden is provided for educational and recreational use. It is not professional agricultural, horticultural, medical, nutritional, or legal advice. In particular:

Foraging is at your own risk. The wild-edibles guide is a reference, not a substitute for in-person training and 100% positive identification. Many edible plants have toxic look-alikes. Never eat a wild plant unless you have personally identified it with absolute certainty. We accept no liability for harm caused by misidentification or consumption.
Survival nutrition content is educational. Do not rely on it as a primary source for medical or dietary decisions. Consult a qualified healthcare provider.
Community advice from other users is not verified. Following it is your choice.
Moon phase gardening is a traditional practice with some research support and some skepticism. The app presents it as a planning aid; your results will vary with soil, weather, and skill.

6. Account termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, especially community-rule violations. We try to be reasonable about first offenses but reserve the right to act immediately for severe violations (harassment, illegal content, attacks on the service). You can appeal a termination by emailing the contact address.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Moon Phase Garden, its developers, and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. If the app crashes during a critical moment, we're sorry, but you accept the risk by using it.

8. Changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features. We will try not to break anything you depend on. Major changes that affect your data are covered by the Privacy Policy's change-notice rules.

9. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the app and feed at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Williamson County, Tennessee, except where local consumer protection law requires otherwise.
