| 🟡 Yellow | Talagang malakas: totoong epekto, totoong babala.
|---|---|
| Pagpapahinga / tulog | Chamomile, lavender, lemon balm — calming teas. (Skip chamomile if you have a severe ragweed allergy.) |
| Panunaw & kabag | Peppermint, fennel seed, dill — classic after-meal teas. Peppermint can worsen reflux for some. |
| Resistensya & masakit na lalamunan | Garlic (large amounts can thin the blood — go easy if you take blood thinners or before surgery), thyme, sage gargle, echinacea (🟡 — not for long continuous use or with autoimmune conditions). |
| Balat & maliliit na gasgas | Calendula salve, aloe vera gel for minor burns — topical, gentle, and easy to grow. |
|---|---|
| Comfrey | Topical use only — never eat it. It contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids that damage the liver. Use on unbroken skin for bruises and sprains, and skip it entirely in pregnancy. (It's still a superb compost and mulch plant.) |
| Goldenseal | Threatened in the wild — buy cultivated only, never wild-harvest. Interacts with many prescription medicines. Not for pregnancy, breastfeeding or infants. Talk to a doctor or pharmacist first. |
Bawat halaman, isa-isa
May safety tier ang bawat halaman: 🟢 banayad, 🟡 malakas — totoong babala, 🔴 eksperto / topical-only. Magsimula sa green, at igalang ang red.
| Halaman | Tier | Mabuti para sa | Paano ginagamit | Mga babala |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chamomile | 🟢 | Pampakalma, tulog, sumasakit na tiyan | Tea from the dried flowers | Skip it with a severe ragweed allergy |
| Peppermint | 🟢 | Panunaw, kabag, sakit ng ulo sa tensyon | Tea; diluted oil on the skin | Can worsen acid reflux |
| Lemon balm | 🟢 | Kalma, tulog, singaw sa labi | Tea; a topical balm | Very gentle and forgiving |
| Lavender | 🟢 | Relaxation, tulog, magaan na skin care | Tea, sachet, diluted oil | The oil is topical/aromatic — not for eating |
| Calendula | 🟢 | Balat, gasgas, tuyot na kamay | Salve or infused oil | Topical; daisy-family allergy caution |
| Plantain (broadleaf) | 🟢 | Kagat ng insekto, kagat na mapula, maliliit na sugat | Crushed-leaf poultice or salve | The common lawn weed — not the banana |
| Echinacea | 🟡 | Panandaliang immune support sa unang senyales ng sipon | Tincture or tea | Not for long continuous use or with autoimmune conditions |
| Yarrow | 🟡 | Pinapabagal ang maliit na pagdurugo; panghugas ng sugat | Poultice or tea | Avoid in pregnancy; daisy-family allergy |
| Feverfew | 🟡 | Pang-iwas sa migraine kapag iniinom nang matagal | Dried leaf or capsule | Not in pregnancy; fresh leaf can cause mouth sores |
| Marshmallow | 🟡 | Pampaginhawa ng lalamunan, tuyong ubo, lining ng bituka | Cold-water root infusion | Take apart from medicines — it can slow their absorption |
| Mullein | 🟡 | Ubo at barado ang dibdib | Leaf/flower tea, strained well | Strain the fine hairs — they irritate the throat |
| Valerian | 🟡 | Tulog at tensyon | Root tea or tincture at night | Sedating — never with alcohol/sedatives or before driving |
| St. John's wort | 🔴 | Maliliit na paso, gasgas at masakit na kalamnan — PANLABAS LANG | Flower-infused oil on the skin only | Do not take by mouth without a doctor — interacts with many medicines incl. birth control, antidepressants, blood thinners. Causes sun sensitivity; keep treated skin out of strong sun. |
| Comfrey | 🔴 | Pasa at pilay — TOPICAL LANG | Poultice or salve on unbroken skin | Never eat it (liver-toxic); short-term, intact skin only |
| Goldenseal | 🔴 | Ayon sa tradisyon, antimicrobial | Buy cultivated — never wild-harvest | Interacts with many prescription medicines. Not for pregnancy, breastfeeding or infants. Talk to a doctor or pharmacist first. |
Tungkol sa natural na first aid
May mga halamang talagang magaling sa maliliit na pang-araw-araw na problema: aloe on a small kitchen burn, calendula salve on a scrape, a crushed yarrow leaf to slow a little bleeding.
